Film Director Mark McGann invites Frome to back musical project
Frome based film director and actor Mark McGann is crowdfunding a new commercial music album to compliment his award winning and locally funded short film ‘Perplexed Music’, which has so far won 32 international awards and stars Mark’s brother Paul McGann.
Mark, a long time Frome resident and one of the Liverpool McGann brothers, has always supported local grass-roots creative arts and heavily features Frome in his film scheduled for commercial release later in the year when it has finished touring the international film festival circuit.
The idea of crowdfunding a music album (also titled Perplexed Music) again fits perfectly with Mark’s belief in the power of wider collective collaborations or ‘people-projects’, to raise the standards of excellence in commercial art; a belief plainly shared by almost 200 people, mainly from the Frome area, who joined the Perplexed Music crowdfunding team and raised over £40,000 to make the film.
Spurred on by this success, Mark is seeking to produce an album of 10 original self-penned tracks including the title-track from the film sung by award winning actress and musician Stephanie Grace Kennedy, that have all been nominated for inclusion by the film’s crowdfunding team. It will also feature guest appearances by a number of high profile international stars like Boz Boorer (Morrissey, Polecats) together with other well-known Frome and UK based artists.
The Kickstarter campaign for Perplexed Music The Album is currently underway with about 50%of the funds raised so far with 3 weeks remaining.
Becoming part of what has become affectionately known among this growing family of creatives and supporters as Team Perplexed Music, is easy!
If you would like to join the Team PM and support Mark’s original works, you can pledge your support for this second project via the following KICKSTARTER link:
There are excellent rewards available in line with all pledges, interest and involvement.
Mark hopes that many more people from Frome will come onboard by making a pledge to make this another successful ‘people-project’ and become a genuinely valued member of a growing artistic happening!
