We would like to invite you to a rehearsed reading at 7.30pm on Wednesday 19th March at Greenwich Theatre, London of an exciting new play by an emerging playwright, Neil Edwards, to be directed by Mark McGann.
BULLET SHAPED HEART
a rehearsed reading
developed in association with Greenwich Theatre, London
‘Bullet Shaped Heart’ is an exploration of the experiences of British soldiers on tours of duty in 1970s Northern Ireland and serving in the Falklands War. The play draws obvious parallels with the experiences of soldiers currently serving in Afghanistan and Iraq and seeks to represent the voices of soldiers traumatised and changed as a result of their service in these conflicts.
We are looking for co-producers for this exhilarating new play with a view to touring it to mid-scale theatres in 2009/10. We also intend to create an education and participatory programme around the issues explored in the piece to be rolled out into secondary schools and colleges during the tour.
If you are interested in the piece, but cannot attend the reading, please contact us and we can send you a copy of the script along with further details of the production.
Please let us know if you are able to attend via e-mail or on the office number 01256 354541.
